Writing Projects: What I'm Up to

Paper Writing Fiend

I've been blogging sporadically.

And here are the reasons why:

First: I'm done with a manuscript but instead of publishing it, I've divided it into four books.

The reason?

While self-publishing would be easy for most writers, the thing to think about here is if it would be widely accepted and supported by readers around the globe.

To those who know me well, they are aware that I've published a lot of works (articles, poems and stories) online and in print. I've also edited some books of other writers. But if I manage to have a book published soon (I hope!) that would be my very first book with me as the author. The thought just thrills me! lol! That's why I want things done right.

After dividing that one into four, I've written possible working titles for these. And I'm now drafting and working on the first.

Second: I'm done with a particular story for kids that I was hoping to send out to the right stables. However, as I read it, I've noticed that there was something lacking: One of the most important points to think about.

What is it?

It's conflict.

Yes, when I read it again, I've noticed that it was just an easy read. Nothing much was going on to the character of my story even though that character is such a interesting one.

I've been playing with my pen wherever I go (a quirky trait I might choose to end this year) as I contemplate on this important point.

Experience has taught me that if I set it aside for awhile, after thinking about it for days, the mind goes to work on it at the background. And so - with a heavy heart - I've placed it my folders labeled "To Think About Further." (Excuse my folder's label. You wouldn't want to know the other labels I've written. lol!)

If an idea pops up soon, I'll sure weave it in.

Third: I'm also writing certain assignments - ghostwritten.

This is an ongoing thing, and it helps in increasing speed and honing my skills.

Fourth: I'm putting up another blog soon. ;-)

Hopefully, I finish these things before my self-imposed deadlines.

So if you don't find a new blog post here, you know the reasons why.

I'll try to update this blog from time to time.

For the meantime, you can share me your experiences on the things that's keeping you busy nowadays. What are you currently working on? I'd love to hear about that. Do tell.

Thanks for reading.

I'll see you next post! ;-)
